SUPER HOOPS TOURNAMENT RULES
All games will be played in 2 (12) minute halves
Pre-game warmup and halftime shall be a minimum of five minutes.
No games will start before their scheduled times, (unless both coaches agree and
officials)
Teams should be at gym site at least one-half hour before scheduled game time.
A total of (2) fulls and (2) 20 sec. time-outs per game will be allowed to each team.
(1) time-out per team will be awarded for each overtime period. No carry overs.
Each overtime period shall be (2) minutes in duration. After 1st OT, next one is
sudden death.
First team listed of each game is the Home Team and wear light colored jerseys.
Home Team should have a representative who will be responsible to keep the official
scorebook
provided at the scores bench. Visiting team will run the clock. All representatives must
be adults
and conduct themselves in a orderly fashion.
A continuous clock will be used in the second half if one team leads by (20) points or
more at
anytime in the second half. (If lead is 19 points or less- clock stops.
Coaches are responsible to keep themselves, their players, and their fans under control at
all times.
IHSAA licensed officials will be used, and will be in control of each game.
Under no circumstances will Super Hoops tolerate rough play or vulgar/ abusive language.
Players
or coaches displaying this type of behavior will be dismissed from the game or the
tournament.
Teams can not switch players from their own teams for another one of there teams.
Exception: Players can move up a grade level and play on that team for both grade levels.
Identification and proof of grade or school may be required. Inaccurate or false
information
on entry form is grounds for team disqualification.
Wlison 285 evolution basketball will be used in all boys grades 4th-6th.
There will be no protest allowed, and ruling of the tournament directors is final.
Tournament
directors have the right to disqualify coaches, players, fans, and teams if they do not
conduct
themselves in a sportsmanship like fashion.
Super Hoops and regional or state final host schools are not responsible for stolen or
lost items.
TOURNAMENT FORMAT
Each team will play (3) games pool play on Saturday. Each team will then be seeded in the
single elimination tournament on Sunday. Number 1 seeds play number 4 seeds, and number 2
seeds play number 3 seeds. The top (3) teams from each grade level will advance to the
state finals 7th-8th grade only. 5Th-6th grade will take the top 6 teams, we only play out
top (4) teams, 5th and 6th seeds will be drawn from winners of the first round on Sunday..
Pool winners are decided by the following criteria: 1. Win-Lose record. 2. Head to Head.
3. Point spread- Maximum of 15 Pts. 4. Coin toss.
NOTE: IF THERE IS A (3) WAY TIE FOR FIRST PLACE- POINT SPREAD WILL DETERMINE IST SEED,
THEN 2 AND 3 GO BACK TO HEAD TO HEAD TO DETERMINE 2ND AND 3RD SEEDS.
